A Grayson County man has been arrested after having a DUI wreck on Shewsbury Road.

Grayson County Deputy Caleb Owens and Leitchfield Police Officer Brian Jennings responded to the wreck in the 100 block of Shrewsbury Road on Saturday night at approximately 9:30.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found that 30-year-old Bobbi R. Cockriel, of Leitchfield, had been traveling south on Shrewsbury Road in an Acura when he left the roadway, hit a road sign and entered a ditch.

Cockriel was not injured.

He was arrested and charged with DUI. Cockriel was taken to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for clearance to be incarcerated. Once cleared, he was transported to the Grayson County Detention Center where an unknown type of contraband was found on his person.

Cockriel was then charged with second-degree promoting contraband, a class A misdemeanor.

According to Kentucky Revised Statute 520.060, a person is guilty of promoting contraband in the second degree when:

(a) He knowingly introduces contraband into a detention facility or a penitentiary; or (b) Being a person confined in a detention facility or a penitentiary, he knowingly makes, obtains, or possesses contraband.
