Edmonson County Schools has joined a growing list of school districts cancelling in-person classes this week.

Illnesses have forced at least 10 Kentucky school districts to cancel classes for either multiple days, or for the remainder of the week, as student and teacher attendance numbers have fallen. Most but not all of the school districts are reverting to Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days.

In addition to Edmonson County, in-person learning has been cancelled for the rest of the week in LaRue, Bullitt, and Carroll counties.

Other school districts cancelling in-person classes for at least one day this week include Oldham County (Tuesday through Thursday), Shelby County and Trimble County (Wednesday and Thursday), Spencer County (Tuesday and Wednesday), as well as Marion County and Washington County (Wednesday).

Most of the districts announced that school buildings would be deep cleaned and sanitized while students and teachers are away.
