A Russell County man has died after a boat capsized on Lake Cumberland.
Russell County Search & Rescue said crews were dispatched to the Coney Fork area of the lake Saturday morning at approximately 4:30 after a boat capsized with two men aboard.
“While the details of how the boat capsized remain unclear at this time, one individual was recovered from the water, alert and conscious, while the other was found unconscious,” according to Russell Co. Search & Rescue.
The unconscious male, 44-year-old Armando Penaloza, of Russell Springs, was administered CPR and transported along with the other man to Russell County Hospital where Penaloza was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Russell Co. Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky Fish & Wildlife personnel assisted at the scene.
