A Louisville attorney has drowned at Taylorsville Lake.
The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District said firefighters received information on Saturday night at approximately 7:00 that a kayaker who entered the lake earlier in the day was “overdue” returning to shore.
Firefighters and other first responders used a drone and watercraft to search for 55-year-old Russell “Rusty” O’Brien, a notable immigration attorney and founder of the O’Brien Law Group.
O’Brien’s lifeless body was found about 1,000 feet from the shore. The initial inquiry indicated O’Brien drowned.
The investigation continues.
