An Ohio County man has been jailed after shooting “towards a residence” and barricading himself inside a home with several firearms.
Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said deputies on Saturday responded to Deanfield Drive in Reynolds Station, about six miles northwest of Fordsville, on the report of a man “shooting a firearm towards a residence.”
Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with the suspect, 36-year-old Robert “Rex” Pentecost, of Reynolds Station, “who was known to have multiple warrants,” the sheriff’s office said.
Pentecost then barricaded himself in the residence with multiple firearms, as deputies made entry into the home and negotiated with Pentecost for over an hour. He was taken into custody without further incident.
He was charged with felony wanton endangerment (discharge of firearm), resisting arrest, menacing, and two counts of flagrant non-support. The suspect was also served with a failure to appear warrant.
Pentecost was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on five bonds totaling $39,500.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Kentucky State Police.
