Michael Wayne Pierce, “Froggy,” 23, of Louisville, KY, left this physical earth on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
He was survived by his mother, Candiance (Adam) Schmidt; father, Nathan (Katy) Pierce; sisters, Neala Young and Maddy Pierce; brother, Kolton Pierce; step-brother, Alex Schmidt; uncle, Lane (Liz Gordon) Higdon and Brian Pierce; aunts, “Jibber” (Jennifer Beck), Mindy Wilkins, Laura Dearing, Amanda Hotaling, Brittany Bowier, Debbie (Alan) Goodloe, Lori (Eddie) Rivera cousins, Brailen Hotaling, Sophia Gordon and Gavin Beck-Close; papaw, Norb (Aleata Eanes) Pierce; mamaw, Dedra Stone-Lindsey; grandma, Kathy Hartness and Nonny Ritter; great-grandmother, Betty Stone; a bonus mom, Nicole (Rob) Sams; bonus dad, Les Young; and his favorite pet dog, Atticus.
He was preceded in death by his mamaw, June Pierce; grandpa, Mike Hartness; papaw, Michael Wayne Joyce and Herman Lindsey; uncle, Dalton Lindsey; great-grandfather, John Stone, Billy Wilkins and Norbert Pierce; great-grandmother, Mary Wilkins and Delores Pierce; and an annoying but beloved family dog, Rambo.
Michael will be remembered for his larger than life personality and his beautiful ginger hair. He never failed to make others laugh, whether it was by the many impersonations he did, a story he told, an inside joke he shared with others or showing up to certain occasions dressed in a Riddler suit. He was always known for sending funny recordings of himself or a ridiculous YouTube video he found. He loved playing video games and shared the passion with his dad and sister. He loved shrimp fried rice, without the veggies of course, his dad’s lasagna and his stepmom’s stuffed shells. He shared a love of music with his mom and passed on his favorite songs to others for them to enjoy as much as he did. Michael lived to help others, either by offering an ear to listen, sound advice for those that needed it, or just by providing an overall sense of friendship. Michael’s legacy of helping others will continue to live on through the memories and laughter that we all share, but especially through those individuals that received the precious gift of his organs through the family’s decision of organ donation. Michael left this physical earth a hero.
