A man was fatally struck after a garbage truck broke down.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Wednesday morning at approximately 6:20 in the 4000 block of E State Line Road near the Kentucky/Tennessee border in Fulton County.
State police said the investigation showed that 44-year-old Jordan B. Owens, of Greenfield, Tennessee, was driving a Mack garbage truck when the vehicle “stalled over the center line of the roadway.”
When Owens exited the vehicle, a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, being driven by 25-year-old Jose G. Carrillo, of Mayfield, fatally struck Owens, who was pronounced deceased at an out of state hospital, KSP said.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by state police Det. Nate Moore.
