The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for squatting at an empty Owensboro Road residence and stealing a vehicle’s license plate in another county.

On Saturday at approximately 5:50 p.m., Grayson County Deputy Andy Cast and Sgt. Jason Luedke were dispatched to a residence in the 7800 block of Owensboro Road (Hwy 54) on a trespassing complaint. The owner of the property, according to the arrest citation, “had located a silver vehicle parked next to an abandoned farmhouse on their property.”

Upon police arriving at the scene, the property owner requested deputies clear the residence. While clearing the farmhouse, deputies located 31-year-old Jorge Roblero, address unknown, hiding in an upstairs closet.

He was arrested without incident.

While police were “inspecting the vehicle parked outside the residence” they discovered the license plate on the car had been stolen out of Hardin County. The plate belonging to the vehicle Roblero was driving was found in the back seat of the car, the citation states.

Roblero was charged with first-degree trespassing and theft of a motor vehicle registration plate and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

One day before deputies arrested Roblero, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office in a social media post alerted residents that a silver passenger car, the same vehicle Roblero was driving, had “been seen on private property attempting to spend the night in a barn.”
