A man has been arrested in eastern Kentucky after accidentally shooting a child.
Kentucky State Police Post 10 Public Affairs Officer Shane Jacobs said troopers responded to the report of an accidental shooting involving and eight-year-old boy Sunday morning at approximately 1:00 off Hwy 221 in Bledsoe, a small town in Harlan County.
The child, Jacobs said, was initially transported to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital but later transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Police did not release information on what precipitated the accidental shooting, but troopers arrested 34-year-old Andrew Sundberg, of Irvington, Alabama, and charged him with first-degree wanton endangerment.
He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
