As of 10:35 Tuesday night, nearly 5,000 customers were without power in Grayson County, according to WRECC.
The culprit is thought to be a major electrical power station on a pole at the intersection of Anneta Road (Hwy 259) and Bloomington Road, near the Dollar General store, sparking and catching fire.
With such a large number of people without power, and the temperature in single-digits, Grayson County Emergency Management has opened a temporary Warming Center at Grayson County Middle School “for the remainder of the night.”
At its peak, over 7,000 customers were without power in the county.
UPDATE: By 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, power to all but two WRECC customers was back on.
