A man accused of shooting a Breckinridge County deputy has been arrested.

The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office and Hardinsburg and Irvington Police Departments arrested 53-year-old Julio Morales Ceballos on Sunday evening.

As K105 previously reported, Ceballos was wanted after shooting a deputy who was responding to a domestic dispute on Hwy 2779 on Saturday night at approximately 6:00. Ceballos also allegedly shot two cruisers before fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

The deputy suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Besides Breckinridge County deputies and officers from the Hardinsburg and Irvington PDs, Kentucky State Police and the KSP Aviation branch “as well as other assets” contributed to the search for Ceballos.

Ceballos was charged with attempted murder of a peace officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence — minor injury).

As of early Monday morning, Ceballos was not listed as an inmate in Breckinridge, Hardin or Grayson County jails.
