Helen Marie Chronister Nestor, 81, of Nortonville passed away Jan. 11, 2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville.
The Edmonson County native was an air conditioner brazer for York International. She was a daughter of the late John Robert Coates and Lottie Nash Coates and the wife of the late James Chronioster. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Childress; two grandchildren, Kimber Beth Childress and Jasper Anthony Holt; two brothers, James Coates and Bobby Coates; and the father of her children, Charles Thomas Childress.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday at New Life Ministries in Park City, where she was a founding member, with burial to follow in South Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday at the church.
Surviving are her husband, David Roy Nestor; a daughter, Lisa Holt and husband Jerry of Brownsville; two sons, Jon Robert Childress and wife Kristina of Nortonville and Benjamin Thaddius Childress and wife Cathy of Lexington; four sisters, Frances Ashley of Horse Cave, Linda Draper of Huntsville, AL, Mary Cutliff of Shelbyville, TN and Patricia Toms and husband Stephen of Glasgow; two brothers, Ronald Coates and Donald Coates and wife Kathy both of Park City; seven grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Martin and wife Valisa, Andrew Thomas Martin and wife Lauren, Matthew James Aaron Martin and wife Lacey, Ryan St. Vincent, Taylor Marie Childress Emilee Rae Shymkus and husband Michael and Jaci Ellen Childress; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend of 50 years, Tere Arriola.
