22-year-old fatally struck by train in Hopkins Co.

Police have learned the identity of the man fatally struck by a train in Hopkins County.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office told media outlets that the man was walking north along the tracks in the 6000 block of Hopkins Road in Earlington Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30 when he was hit by a CSX train.

Police initially asked for the public’s help identifying the decedent.

On Wednesday, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office told WBKO.com that the decedent has been identified as 22-year-old Jordan N. Edwards, of Bremen.

It’s unclear why Edwards was walking along the tracks.
