MaDonna Lee McGrew, age 72, of Leitchfield, passed away Saturday, (January 4, 2025) at her residence. She was born on November 17, 1952 in Whitesburg, KY, the daughter of the late Harold Long and Patricia (Sexton) Brown.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at various nursing homes in Louisville as a traveling CNA, and at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield as well. She loved fishing, crocheting, growing her flowers, attending cookouts and sitting around the campfire. She enjoyed riding around the country side on all the back roads. She was raised in Charleston, Indiana; where she graduated from high school, and when she was young she lived on a cattle farm in Florida. She attended Decker School Church.
She is survived by her children, Gail Decker Basham,(Dee), Shawn Farrow (Deloris), Jennifer
Decker, Bryon Decker (Jennifer Hayes Cole), and Amber Decker (Brian); eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, with two on the way; and one brother, Larry Long (Judy).
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell McGrew; the father
of her children, Harold Decker; daughter, Heather McGrew; brother, Steve Long; granddaughter, Samantha Decker; and grandson, Ross Farrow.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (January 12, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home
in Leitchfield. Bro. Neil Carnes will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with burial at a later date in McGrew Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday and until time of
services.
