Man struck by train in Hopkins Co. Police asking for help identifying victim

A man was fatally struck by a train in Hopkins County on Saturday.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office told media outlets that the man was walking north along the tracks in the 6000 block of Hopkins Road in Earlington Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30 when he was hit by a CSX train.

Police have not been able to identify the victim and are asking for the public’s help.

The sheriff’s office said the victim is a white male between 20- and 25-years-old. He has a medium build and brown hair below his ears.

The man was wearing black slip-on boots, blue jeans with black thermal underwear. He was also wearing an Under Armour hoodie and red t-shirt.

Anyone with information on the identity of the individual is asked to contact the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at 270-821-5661.
