A teenager fleeing from police in a vehicle with two juvenile girls in Ohio County drove into Green River.
Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said deputies at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday were contacted by Kentucky State Police regarding a pursuit that was entering Ohio County.
The chase entered a “state road” in Cromwell, according to Wright, before the vehicle drove into Green River.
Three of the vehicle’s occupants were quickly apprehended, while the male driver fled on foot.
With assistance from a K-9 officer and drone, the suspect, 18-year-old Braxton W. Broyles, of Bowling Green, was pulled from the river by law enforcement.
Broyles was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and receiving stolen property (over $10,000). He was additionally served with an out-of-county warrant and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
Another 18-year-old, Devion Cox, was taken into custody along with two “underage females,” according to Wright.
There’s no record of Cox being lodged in either the Ohio County or Warren County jails.
