Police continue to search for escaped inmate from Madisonville

Law enforcement continues to look for an escaped inmate from Madisonville.

Kentucky State Police was notified by the Christian County Detention Center on Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:20 that an inmate, 52-year-old Kevin D. Johnson, had walked away from a work detail at the Hopkinsville Convention Center.

Johnson is a white male standing six feet, two inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing khaki pants and a black shirt, state police said.

Johnson, according to online records, has been arrested numerous times over the last decade on multiple offenses, including drug trafficking (methamphetamine), theft and persistent felony offender. At one point, Johnson was jailed in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was listed as a federal inmate.
