Pamela Lynn Heckler, 55, of Sweeden passed away December 28, 2024 at her home.
The Jefferson County native was a homemaker with an outgoing personality and love of life, loved consignment shopping, Bingo, and spending time with all of her babies. She was a daughter of Edward Thomas Heckler, who survives and the late Patsy Joann Ritter Shilito.
She was preceded in death by her son, Zachary Cottongim; and her step father, John Shilito.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation will take place 12-8 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday.
Also surviving are the love of her life, Laymon “Buster” Hodges; three daughters, Erica Ellis (Jordan) of Smiths Grove, Ashley McFelia of Brownsville and Jessica Jones (Jordan) of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Cottongim of Georgetown, IN; a sister, Tammy Ruxer (Steve) of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Arieal McFelia, Carson McFelia, Riley Cottongim, Alexander Cottongim, Oaklee Ellis, Remi Ellis, and Ty Ellis; two nieces, Jennifer Whyte (David) and Kaitlynn Tompkins (Peter); a nephew, Matthew Ruxer; many cousins; and lots of special friends.
We take comfort in the fact that she is reunited with her beloved son, who was her hero.
