It is with great sadness that the family of Reva Dean Stasel of Leitchfield announce her passing at the age of 74 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY on December 23, 2024.
Reva Dean Higdon Stasel was born on March 8, 1950 in Wax, KY, the daughter of the late Dillard and Coreen Clemons Higdon.
Reva was previously employed by Vermont American/ Magna where she worked for over three decades until their closing. She was a devoted member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Wax, KY which was directly across from her homeplace. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family, especially the great-grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Damon Stasel of Leitchfield, two daughters, Teresa Mahurin (Steve) of Caneyville, Marcy Hill (Steve) of Leitchfield; four grandsons, Chris Hill (Amy) of Louisville, Brian Hill (Kim) of Leitchfield, Alex Shellhart (Ashley) of Bowling green & Cody Shellhart (Emily) of Caneyville; three great-grandchildren, Levi, Lyla Mae & Bennett Shellhart; two sisters, Nellie Alvey of Leitchfield & Pauline Jenkins of New Jersey and two sisters-in-law Bonnie Stasel & Linda Joyce (W.D.) both of Clarkson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Childress of Munfordville and two brothers, Hershel Higdon of Cave City and Jimmy Higdon of Wax.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, (December 30, 2024) at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Wax. Father Stephen Van Lal Than will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Benedict Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and at St. Benedict Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
