Human remains have been discovered by hikers in central Kentucky.
The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched Friday afternoon at approximately 3:25 to Brumfield Lane, approximately two miles south of Nicholasville, after two hikers found human remains.
“The 2 men guided us to the location where they had made the discovery. One deputy and the 2 individuals were able to make it to the location safely and in fact were able to confirm that the remains did appear to be human,” Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Grimes said in a social media post.
The skeletal remains, identified as an adult male by police, were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
