A Kentucky man over $100,000 behind in child support payments was arrested while disembarking from a cruise ship in Miami, Florida.
Dominic A. Weaver, 47, was arrested by Miami police last week as he returned from a cruise, according to a report by WDRB.com.
Weaver, according to Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell, had been on the run for a decade.
“I don’t know when he left, but he fled the jurisdiction, and from the date of his sentence until today, and even today, he’s not paid one cent of child support,” O’Connell to WDRB.com.
O’Connell told the Louisville television station that Weaver currently has four cases with the child support division.
O’Connell said he believes Weaver owes between $114,000 and $120,000 in back child support.
Weaver has been extradited from Florida and is lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections.
