Kentucky State Police is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Owensboro.
The incident happened Saturday morning at approximately 4:00 in the 500 block of Orchard Street when Owensboro PD officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arriving at the residence, police encountered a man with a knife who began threatening officers and other people in the home, according to state police.
“Multiple OPD officers fired their agency-issued firearm, striking the individual,” Kentucky State Police said.
The man was transported to Owensboro Health where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. The man is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
No other injuries were reported.
