A teenager is facing a manslaughter charge after a baby died of fentanyl poisoning.
The Louisville Metro Police Department arrested 19-year-old Saniya Frazier, of Louisville, and charged her with second-degree manslaughter following the overdose death of the baby on August 19, according to a report by WAVE.com. Charges were filed against Frazier on Tuesday.
The death occurred when the child ingested multiple pills he/she took from Frazier’s purse.
Lab testing showed the pills were positive for fentanyl, and the one-year-old’s toxicology report showed the baby died of fentanyl poisoning.
Frazier’s relationship to the baby is currently unknown.
Frazier is being held in Louisville Metro Corrections on a $250,000 cash bond.
