First responders conducted a swift water rescue of a hunter near Taylorsville.
On Sunday afternoon, the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire District was dispatched to the 1200 block of Crooked Creek Road, approximately 12 miles east of Taylorsville.
Officials said that upon arriving at the scene, they discovered two hunters who were hunting in the Kentucky Wildlife Management Area and “were swept away by the current while attempting to cross the creek.”
“The hunters were carried approximately 150 yards downstream before managing to reach the shore. However, one of the hunters was landlocked and required assistance to cross the creek,” the fire district said.
Firefighters deployed a rope gun to set up ropes across the creek and utilized an inflatable raft to access the stranded hunter. Support personnel were positioned downstream with throw bags, ready to provide additional assistance if needed. The man, though, was rescued and suffered no injuries.
