A freshman cheerleader at the University of Pikeville has died in a car crash.
Kennadi Mollett, 19, died last week after a crash on Hwy 52 in Wayne County. The accident was between Mollett’s vehicle and a large truck. No other information on the crash has been released.
Mollett graduated from Martin County High School in 2024 where she was on the cheer team and also played basketball. Mollett matriculated to the University of Pikeville where she was on the cheer team.
University of Pikeville Cheer released the following statement:
UPike cheer lost one of its own today. To know Kennadi was to love her. She was such a sweet soul. She always had a smile on her face and told the funniest jokes to make everyone else smile too. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers during this time. We love you, Kennadi.
