It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aileen Tilford-Higdon on November 26, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born on March 3, 1933, to Pearl and Lee Grant, Aileen lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Aileen was the proud mother of four children: Valerie Farris (Joseph), Brad Tilford, Mark Tilford, and Rhonda Kinser. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind four beloved grandchildren: Natasha Alexander (Joseph), and Jason Farris (Cortney), children of Valerie and Joe; and Nicholas and Jacob Kinser, sons of Rhonda. Aileen’s legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Jacie and Lanie Alexander, Tyler and Zack Farris, and Tyler and Liam Harrell. Aileen is also survived by her beloved brother, David Grant, and several nieces and nephews.
Aileen was predeceased by her first husband, Calvin Tilford, with whom she built the foundation of her family. Later in life, she found companionship and love again with her second husband, Carlos, with whom she shared many happy years.
Her kindness, strength, and enduring love will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and faith, which will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
A service will be held to celebrate Aileen’s remarkable life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (December 4, 2024) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Paul Sinoj will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday (December 3, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time to move to St. Joseph Catholic Church for services.
