Thanksgiving at family gatherings for many people consists of offering thanks for one’s health and the health of their families. This Thanksgiving, you might keep in mind a young Grayson County family dealing with a nightmare scenario as their infant has been diagnosed with cancer.
“On November 1, 2024, baby Noah had his two-month well child visit. His pediatrician noticed that his white blood cell count was twenty-times that of a typical child,” Sheriff Norman Chaffins wrote in a social media post.
When Noah’s parents, Hunter Felty and Makayla Hack, took Noah to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville to have the infant evaluated, they were informed that baby Noah has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
“His young parents … and their families are devastated,” Chaffins said.
Hunter, Chaffins added, is the primary financial support for his son and has been staying with Noah at Norton Children’s Hospital the entire time the infant has been hospitalized.
“PLEASE help us help them. No parent should have to worry about work or if they can pay the bills while their child is in the battle for their life,” Chaffins pleaded.
“Mom and dad need to be there for their son,” Chaffins added. “I am asking our citizens that can, to please consider donating so that we can alleviate some of the financial burdens that go along with having to battle this dreadful disease.”
Every penny donated will go to Felty, who starred at quarterback and outside linebacker on the Grayson Co. High School football team, Hack and baby Noah.
