A police pursuit that began in Warren County ended in Grayson County on Saturday night.
Law enforcement officers in Grayson County were notified about the pursuit Saturday night just before 9:00 and resulted in the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield Police Department responding to Shrewsbury Road (Hwy 187) as the chase traveled through Edmonson County and into Grayson County.
As the pursuit entered the county at moderate to low speeds, one of the pursuing officers unsuccessfully attempted a PIT maneuver, causing the male suspect to increase his speed to approximately 70 miles per hour before crashing in a rollover incident in the 3600 block of Shrewsbury Road.
He was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center where he was airlifted to an unknown hospital.
The Leitchfield Police Department and Grayson County deputies were ready to deploy spike strips at the intersection of Sadler Road and Shrewsbury Road (popularly known as Kirby’s Corner), as LPD Officer Brian Jennings closed the roadway at the intersection Shrewsbury Road of Frontage Road.
Those efforts, though, were not needed as the suspect crashed approximately eight-tenths of a mile from Sadler Road.
K105 has reached out to Kentucky State Police for additional information.
