A Hart County High School teacher has been suspended.
Kaleigh Qualls, a Local Career & Tech Instructor and Business teacher, according to the Hart County High School website, was initially suspended on October 24, according to a report by Hart County News-Herald.
At that time, she was suspended with pay for up to 10 days. Her suspension was extended 15 working days on Sunday.
In a letter to Qualls, Hart County Schools Superintendent Nathan Smith said in part: “The reason for your suspension is to conduct an inquiry into allegations of misconduct.
Qualls, while under suspension, is prohibited from having contact with students or staff.
Assistant Superintendent Bo Chenoweth issued a statement to the Hart County News-Herald that says in part: “Hart County Schools can confirm that information was shared with our local sheriff regarding allegations of misconduct concerning a teacher for the school system.”
Qualls, who also teaches at Green River College & Career Academy, first started teaching at Hart County High School in 2022.
