Delbert Lee Willis Sr., age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (November 14, 2024) at his home.
He was born on August 20, 1943 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Walter and Thelma Clark Willis.
He was a retired construction worker who enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. Delbert was an Elder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hardinsburg.
He is survived by his son, Gary Willis (Candy) of Louisville, KY; a daughter, Melissa Stevens (Heath Talley) of Clyde, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stewart Willis; a son, Delbert Willis Jr.; a grandson Austin Willis and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (November 19, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow with burial in the Hazelwood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
