Breckinridge Co. man accused of stabbing brother

A Breckinridge County man with a history of violent behavior and accused of stabbing his brother has been indicted on multiple charges.

Eric D. Emery, 34, of Lewisport, was arrested in early October 2024 after Emery stabbed his brother at a residence in the 500 block of Hardin Mills Road, approximately eight miles west of Hardinsburg.

The victim was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with what WXBC.com described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Emery was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree wanton endangerment, four counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree assault.

He was recently indicted on those charges by a Breckinridge County Grand Jury.

According to online records, Emery has a lengthy arrest history involving violent behavior, including an arrest in Breckinridge County in June 2024 for terroristic threatening and harassing communications. He was jailed in May 2024 in Breckinridge County for resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault.

In June 2018, Emery was charged by the Hardinsburg Police Department with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

In March 2014, he was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and charged with fourth-degree assault.

He was arrested in May 2013 in Hancock County for third-degree assault of a first responder, and again in December 2013, also in Hancock County, for fourth-degree assault.

In June 2013, he was jailed by the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office and charged with fourth-degree assault.
