A Leitchfield man has been injured in an accident in Breckinridge County.
The incident occurred Wednesday evening at approximately 5:15 near Harned on Hwy 259 south, not far from Aldridge Lane, according to a report by WXBC.com.
The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office told the news outlet that a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, being driven by 72-year-old Stewart Bullock, of Clarkson, was traveling south on Hwy 259 when he pulled off the roadway to allow an emergency vehicle to pass. Another vehicle, a southbound Toyota truck, driven by 57-year-old Kenneth Curry, of Westview, stopped behind Bullock, as he also allowed the emergency vehicle to pass.
As the emergency vehicle passed the two vehicles, Curry re-entered the roadway and tried to pass Bullock but instead hit the Tacoma from behind.
As Curry exited his vehicle, which was stationary on the centerline, his door was struck by a northbound Ford F-150, being driven by 73-year-old Ralph Carwile, of Westview.
A passenger in Bullock’s Tacoma, 28-year-old Landon Howard, of Leitchfield, was injured and transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
