An employee at a local restaurant may have saved the life of a man who arrived at the business suffering from a medical emergency.

The incident occurred Monday night at approximately 9:55 when the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS were dispatched to Huddle House at 118 Commerce Drive when a Grayson County man in his 20s arrived at and entered the restaurant and almost immediately dropped to the ground, according to witnesses.

The man apparently began experiencing seizures and according to witnesses, stopped breathing.

An employee of Huddle House, Richard Jackson, then performed CPR on the man.

The man started and stopped breathing multiple times prior to first responders arriving on scene, witnesses said, which took only a few minutes. When the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS arrived, the man was breathing but was wavering in and out of consciousness.

He was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS. His current condition is not known.

Multiple people at the restaurant, including Jackson, knows the man and said he suffers from seizures and takes seizure medication, as they also stated the man is a military veteran.
