Mother and son killed in head-on collision in Adair Co.

A mother and son have been killed in a two-vehicle accident in Adair County.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Friday afternoon at approximately 2:30 on Hwy 55.

The state police investigation showed that 74-year-old Linda Young, of Jamestown, was traveling south on Hwy 55 in a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze when she crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2016 GMC Yukon head-on.

Young and her passenger and son, 45-year-old Chris Young, of Jamestown, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Adair Co. Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the Yukon, 55-year-old Dana Arnold, of Grand Rivers (Livingston Co.), was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center.

KSP Sr. Trooper Weston Sullivan is leading the investigation.
