An impaired teenager struck a moped in Pulaski County, killing the rider.
The Pulaski Co. Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police responded to the crash at the intersection of Hwy 27 and Frog Hollow Road in Science Hill just after midnight Saturday morning.
The state police investigation showed that a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, being driven by 19-year-old Kayleigh J. Dismuke, of Eubank, was traveling north on Hwy 27 when her vehicle struck in the rear a northbound Happyrun moped, being driven by 31-year-old Dino R. Collins, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Collins, who was ejected from the moped, was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Pulaski Co. Coroner’s Office.
Dismuke was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol, possession of an alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, DUI, and failure to wear a seat belt.
She was lodged in the Pulaski Co. Detention Center.
