Two suspects accused of robbing a McLean County convenience store at gunpoint have been nabbed in Ohio County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded at approximately 3:30 Sunday afternoon to the report of an armed robbery at the Valero convenience store at 628 Henton Street in Livermore.
“The manager of the store said there were two suspects and fled on KY 136 (Livermore Rd.) towards Ohio County in a Lincoln Town Car,” state police said.
Soon after, the Beaver Dam Police Department observed the Lincoln and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspects fled onto Johnson Road. The suspects then drove into a field where they fled on foot.
The Ohio Co. Sheriff’s Office used a drone and the McLean Co. Sheriff’s Office utilized a K-9 while searching for the suspects, 29-year-old Taylor J. Rolson and 27-year-old Angela Burton, both of Mansfield, Ohio.
Later in the search, the two suspects were spotted by law enforcement leaving a wooded area on foot, according to state police. They were taken into custody without further incident.
Based on the duo’s charges, police discovered a trafficking amount of methamphetamine; the vehicle the couple was fleeing in was apparently reported stolen; and Rolson was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.
Both suspects were charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, criminal trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rolson was additionally charged with two counts of receiving stolen property (firearm, motor vehicle), first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, and several non-moving violations.
Both suspects were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
