An Elizabethtown man is behind bars after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman.
Brendon W. Houk, 24, was arrested and charged with kidnapping (adult), second-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and tampering with physical evidence.
Houk’s arrest comes after he held a female against her will, handcuffed the victim to a pole in a utility closet and beat her with a crutch, a small pole and coat hangers, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. He also gagged the woman by shoving a sock in her mouth.
The victim, who eventually freed herself, was transported to Baptist Health Hardin for treatment of multiples cuts to her face, head, hands, wrists, and legs. She displayed bruising all over her body.
During a search of the Airview Drive residence in Elizabethtown where the assault took place, police located bloody clothing, blood on the floors, and bloody towels and sock.
