A Bullitt County woman has pled guilty to killing her two small children.

Tiffanie Lucas, 32, pled guilty on Wednesday to shooting and killing six-year-old Maurice Baker Jr. and nine-year-old Jaden Howard on November 8, 2023, at their home on Brentwood Drive in Shepherdsville.

Both children were transported to Norton Children’s Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

It was announced by Lucas’ attorney at a status hearing on October 14 that Lucas would plead guilty on October 17, but that court appearance was delayed.

When Lucas is formally sentenced on November 22, she faces between 20 and 50 years in prison on each murder charge, or possibly life in prison.

“I’m going to recommend a very high sentence in terms of time,” prosecutor Todd Bailey told WAVE.com. “I’m going to discuss with my first assistant and my second assistant and possibly consult with some other prosecutors to come to what I think is a fair and just recommendation of the court.”

The final decision on Lucas’ sentence lies with Judge Rodney Burress.
