Robert Louis Whobrey, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 20, 2024)
in Leitchfield. He was born on December 30, 1935 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late James Samuel and Gertrude Probus Whobrey.

He had worked at General Electric in Louisville, and then retired from Bel Brands USA; where he had worked as an engineer. He previously served on the Leitchfield Fire Department. He had a wood shop and was very good at wood working. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching ball games. Spending time with his family and grandchildren were his favorite past time.

He married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Prewitt Whobrey on February 8, 1958, and together they raised four children. He was a member of the Clinton Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by his children, Rick Whobrey (Kim), Greg Whobrey (Robin), Tami Skaggs (Gary), and George Earl Whobrey; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Whobrey (Sara), Grant Whobrey (Amber), Kyle Skaggs, Kelsie Hughes (Kyle), Kinzie Skaggs, Rance Whobrey (Amber), and Macy Loving (David); great-grandchildren, Landon, Carter, Annie Claire Whobrey, Ace, Ivie, and Onyx Hughes, Boone and Palmer Ridge Loving, and Lawson and Georgia Claire Whobrey.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Whobrey, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (October 30, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Mark Claypool will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday
(October 29, 2024) and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday (October 30, 2024) until time of services.
