Jackie Leon Saltsman, age 83, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, (October 17, 2024) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.
He was born on August 14, 1941 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Jake and Mille Decker Saltsman.
He worked in the Recycling Industry and enjoyed vegetable gardening, raising sunflowers and pumpkins, going to church and spending time with his family. He was a proud supporter of Donald Trump and a member of the Decker Holiness Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Decker (Bobby), Teresa Nichols & Wendy Saltsman, all of Leitchfield; four grandchildren, Brittany Decker (Nathan), Jenna Baker (Jacob), Kelsi Clemons (Brady) and Millie Saltsman; five great-grandchildren, Emri, Rosa and Avery Clemons and Gray and Navy Baker. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth “Sissie” Saltsman; a son, Jeff Saltsman; a grandson, Jonathon Scott Downs; a brother Jerry Saltsman and a sister, Athalean Logsdon.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (October 23, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Harvey Davis and David Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Decker Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
