A Hardin County juvenile charged with murder after crashing while fleeing police will be tried as an adult.

Daniel Miller, 16, was 15-years-old when he fled from an Elizabethtown officer and crashed on the Joe Prather Parkway, killing his passenger, 20-year-old Jamari Whitfield, of Radcliff, on the morning of September 8, 2023.

The investigation revealed that an Elizabethtown police officer attempted to stop a 2010 Ford Flex for speeding on North Dixie Highway (Hwy 31-W), near Baptist Health Hardin. The Ford, being driven by Miller, failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed, police said.

The pursuit continued onto North Dixie Highway before turning onto Joe Prather Parkway where Miller lost control of the Ford and crashed, ending the pursuit.

Miller suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.
