The woman accused of dismembering her mother has now been indicted on a murder charge.

Torilena M. Fields, 32, of Mt. Olivet, was arrested on Wednesday after her mother, Trudy Fields, was found dismembered outside a home they shared on Brierly Ridge Road in rural Robertson County. She was initially charged by Kentucky State Police with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and obstructing governmental operations.

Fields, though, was indicted by a Robertson County Grand Jury on Monday on additional charges of murder and animal torture (for allegedly torturing and killing a dog).

The indictment states that the suspect stabbed her mother several times before shooting her in the head. Torilena Fields then dismembered and eviscerated her mother’s body, according to multiple media reports. Body parts were found in several locations on the property, including Trudy Fields’ charred head, feet and forearms that were found in a pot in an oven.

The suspect is being held in the Bourbon County Detention Center on a $1.5 million cash bond.
