A Burkesville man hit a Scottsville man with his vehicle after the Scottsville man stabbed someone and threatened a group of people with a knife.
The incident occurred Saturday morning just after midnight on Cary Lane in Burkesville.
According to Kentucky State Police, the investigation revealed that 22-year-old Dennis G. Spears, of Scottsville, and 42-year-old Timothy Alexander, of Burkesville, were involved in a physical altercation outside a residence.
During the altercation, Spears armed himself with a knife and stabbed Alexander.
Alexander was transported by private vehicle to Cumberland County Hospital before being airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
After stabbing Alexander, Spears remained outside the home and threatened other people with a knife.
“In an attempt to stop further threat (sic), Austin White, 25, of Burksville, struck Mr. Spears with a vehicle where the previous altercation had occurred,” Kentucky State Police said.
Spears was transported to T.J Samson Community Hospital where he was treated and released. He was then arrested and charged with first-degree assault and lodged in the Adair County Detention Center.
