25-year-old dead, 21-year-old airlifted after exchange of gunfire in Campbellsville

An exchange of gunfire in Campbellsville resulted in a man dying and another being hospitalized.

The Campbellsville Police Department said officers responded Monday morning at approximately 12:30 to a residence on South Columbia Avenue on the report of two men with gunshot wounds.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found 25-year-old Daulton Curry, of Greensburg, and 21-year-old Xavior C. Adams, of Campbellsville, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said the two men had been in an altercation when both Curry and Adams produced handguns and began shooting at each other.

Curry was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Adams was airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center where he’s listed in stable condition, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Assisting at the scene were Kentucky State Police, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and Taylor County Coroner’s Office.
