A person has apparently drowned in Barren River in Bowling Green, the second drowning in the same location since September 20.

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:20, rescue crews responded to Barren River near the River Street bridge after an adult male was witnessed swimming before going under the water and failing to resurface, according to a report by WNKY.com.

Despite search and rescue efforts over the weekend, the apparent drowning victim has not been found.

As K105 previously reported, on September 20, a 17-year-old male drowned while attempting to swim across the river to friends near the River Street bridge.

The teenager’s body was recovered on September 22.
