A man has been arrested after trying to kidnap a girl at a school bus stop.
The Georgetown Police Department on Monday arrested 52-year-old Moises Q. Vergara, of Georgetown, after he attempted to abduct a 10-year-old girl, according to Georgetown police.
“The juvenile victim reported that an unidentified male, driving a white van, attempted to lure her into the vehicle using hand signals and verbal cues. Surveillance footage from nearby cameras confirmed the victim’s account of the suspect’s actions,” Georgetown police said.
The investigation led officers to arrest Vergara and charge him with attempted kidnapping (minor).
He was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
