A Daviess County woman has been arrested for aggravated trafficking in fentanyl with an infant in the residence.
On Thursday, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and U.S. Homeland Security executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of West 10th Street in Owensboro. The search warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing fentanyl trafficking investigation, according to the Daviess Co. Sheriff’s Office
As part of the investigation, “multiple undercover controlled purchases of fentanyl” were made from the targeted home’s resident, 28-year-old Tiana G. Garrard.
During a search of the home, police located a large quantity of fentanyl pills and oxycodone pills as well as cash and drug paraphernalia.
“Some of the evidence, including fentanyl pills, was found within reach of an infant child that lived in the home,” the sheriff’s office said.
Garrard was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (equal or greater than an ounce of fentanyl, ), two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of a controlled substance, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on three cash bonds totaling $95,000.
