Clarkson felon facing boatload of charges, including engaging in organized crime, multiple counts of trafficking in methamphetamine

A Clarkson felon has been jailed in Grayson County after being accused of engaging in organized crime, trafficking in methamphetamine on multiple occasions, possession of methamphetamine, and for being a persistent felony offender.

Phillip C. Heflin, 70, was recently transferred to the Grayson County Detention Center from another facility on the power of three separate indictment warrants charging him with nine counts.

The indictments are the result of a Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force investigation. The first indictment accuses Heflin of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) on December 3, 2023. The first indictment also charges the suspect with first-degree persistent felony offender.

The second indictment charges Heflin with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana on January 2, 2024. The second indictment also charges Heflin with first-degree persistent felony offender.

The third indictment accuses Heflin of engaging in organized crime (criminal syndication) and trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) on January 8, 2024, when the suspect allegedly “participated in organizing a criminal syndicate, and/or providing material aid to the activities of a criminal syndicate, and/or directed activities of a criminal syndicate, and/or committed or conspired to commit or act as an accomplice in the commission of theft,” according got the indictment.

The third indictment also charges Heflin with first-degree persistent felony offender.

He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Heflin has twice been convicted of possession of methamphetamine: In May 2024 in Hardin County and in November 2022 in Grayson County.
