A Somerset man has died after being struck by a train.
The Somerset Fire Department said the incident occurred Wednesday night near the West Columbia Street/Mill Street intersection.
The department said a southbound Norfolk Southern train “struck a pedestrian on the tracks.” The body of the decedent, 34-year-old Edward Yanicko, was tossed from the tracks and located by a drone, the fire department said.
WKYT.com was the first news outlet to report the victim’s name.
