Maxwell Lewis Gibson, age 81 of Clarkson, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1943, in Clarkson the son of the late Lowell and Cova Spencer Gibson.
Maxwell was a hard worker as a self-employed construction worker and a farmer, as a hobby. He loved his family and his children considered him their best friend. He taught them hard work and how to manage their household.
Left to honor Maxwell’s memory are his children, Lewis Gibson, Stevie Gibson (Roberta) and Maxine Skaggs (Verel); eight grandchildren, Aaron Gibson (Tammy), Faith Gaddie (Timmy), Andy Gibson (Kara), Lee Gibson (Emily), Matthew Gibson (Toni), Briar Morrison, Cody Hawkins (Jessica), and Max Hawkins; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Shelby Gibson (Patty); and one sister Diana Poteet (Gary).
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Riggs Gibson; one daughter, Marilyn “Sisy” Gibson; and one brother, Jerry Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Leitchfield Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Priddy officiating. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday.
